Dr. V. Jeyaraj was awarded a Small Study and Research Grant to undertake a Research Project on Survey of British Period Oil Paintings and Their Conservation Status in Tamil Nadu during 2010-11. This project was undertaken by Dr. V. Jeyaraj and he traveled through out Tamil Nadu and survey around 400 British period oil paintings on canvas, wood, leather, hard board and metal. The report consists of chapters on oil paintings, conservation and restoration, list of foreign artists who did the paintings, both Indian and foreign subjects; Indian artists who painted both Indian and foreign subjects; religious subjects etc. It consists of authenticity, conservation aspects, directory of paintings surveyed and the institutions visited, a gallery of colourful photographs.
