The Oriental Manuscripts Library (ORI) , Tirupati conducted a five days workshop on Conservation of Manuscripts from 1st to 5th August 2011 at the ORI, Tirupati. Dr. V. Jeyaraj, Director, Hepzibah Institute of Heritage Conservation, Chennai-600 078 handled classes on both theory and practical on the following subjects on 1st and 2nd August 2011:
History of Manuscripts, Material Technology of Manuscripts, Raw Material Used for Manuscripts Preparation, Procedure of Manuscripts preparation, Nature & Behavior of Different Materials, Familiarization of Manuscripts, Effect and Control of Bio-deterioration, Factors of Deterioration, Their Effect on Manuscripts and Their Identification, Types of Ink and Their Effect on Paper, Storage of Manuscripts, Disaster management.
